Gotham Gymnastics

NYC

About This Activity

Gotham Gymnastics’ camp programming is centered on School’s Out sessions, offered year-round for kids ages 3+ whenever school isn’t in session. Campers of all genders get a high-energy gymnastics day built around learning skills + supervised play on Gotham’s signature equipment—trampolines, foam pit, and climbing walls. If you don’t see a session on a day your child is off, Gotham even notes you can contact the front desk about creating one!

For summer, Gotham runs weekly-booked Summer Sessions, with full-day (9:00am–3:30pm) and half-day (9:00am–12:00pm) options—designed to get kids moving and off screens with lots of time on their “state-of-the-art equipment.”

And if you’ve got a true gymnastics enthusiast at home, Gotham isn’t just a camp stop: they also offer year-round classes (six year-round class tracks for different ages/levels) plus Open Gym “drop-in style” sessions where kids can explore/practice with a warm-up and supervision (not formal instruction)—a great add-on for kids who want more gym time beyond camp weeks.

Ratings & Reviews

What Parents Like

  • Parents describe Gotham as a place where kids truly learn gymnastics, and multiple reviews emphasize that the gym is focused on developing strong fundamentals (and even higher levels are evaluation-based). (1)
  • Reviews repeatedly call out a friendly, organized, professional operation, plus practical perks like plenty of seating for caregivers. (1)
  • Parents mention Gotham’s serious/competitive track vibe (i.e., not just “play gym”), with opportunities to progress through recreational levels and team pathways. (1)

What Parents Think Could Be Improved

  • Multiple reviews praise coaching and the gym itself but think the other operational staff may leave something to be desired in occassional reactions. (1)
  • Since it is mentioned as competitive the older kids get, one parent noted the space felt better suited to serious gymnastics (lots of beams, less “innovative play” equipment), which may matter if you’re looking for more free-play energy vs. instruction. (1)
  • Space fills up quickly; while not explicitly negative, be sure to plan ahead.

Our Take

Gotham tends to win families over when they want legit coaching, real progression, and a polished facility—especially for kids who are excited to learn (not just bounce around). The main watch-outs are front desk experience (worth bracing for), the “serious gym” vibe (amazing for enthusiasts, less perfect if you want more free-play), and demand/cost—so it’s smart to register early and ask about the best class/camp grouping for your child’s temperament and experience level.
