About This Activity
Mathnasium’s summer programs are designed to keep math skills from slipping over the summer (“summer slide”) and help kids get ahead for the coming school year. Their big promise: your child won’t just review worksheets, they’ll build real understanding and confidence using the Mathnasium Method, a structured, personalized approach to teaching math.
Mathnasium serves K–12 students, and each center tailors its summer offerings a bit differently, but the general model is the same across locations. Every child starts with a diagnostic assessment that identifies strengths, gaps, and the specific concepts they need most. Based on that assessment, the center creates a personalized learning plan, whether your child needs to catch up, keep up, or move ahead.
Students attend regular sessions (often 2–3 times per week), either in person at a learning center or online, working in a small-ratio setting with trained instructors using Mathnasium’s proprietary curriculum. These summer sessions mix direct instruction, guided practice, and math games/activities, so it doesn’t feel like endless worksheets. Centers often emphasize that kids have fun while building deep understanding.
