Boston Junior Terriers

About This Activity

Boston Junior Terriers is a year-round youth hockey organization offering a clear development pathway from beginner skating and hockey instruction through highly competitive travel hockey. For younger or newer players, the progression starts with Learn to Skate and Learn to Play, followed by the Pawsome Pups/Dog Development programs, which introduce regular skills sessions and cross-ice game play. From there, players can move into Fed Futures and eventually full-season teams. The organization serves players from the early Mite years through high school and junior hockey, with both boys’ and girls’ programs.

For families looking for a serious hockey-development environment, the Terriers offer a particularly extensive training structure, including weekly skills, practices, games, goalie-specific instruction, off-ice training, camps and clinics. The organization has teams based at Canton Sportsplex and Mark Bavis Arena in Rockland, with competitive teams playing in leagues including the Eastern Hockey Federation and New England Girls Hockey League. Parents should know that the full-season programs are a significant commitment: players are expected to make hockey their primary team sport and attend practices, skills and games, while team placement is generally determined through annual tryouts.
