Fessenden Summer Camps

Fessenden Summer Camps in West Newton offer a mix of day, sports, and specialty camps for girls and boys from age 3.5 through entering grade 10, designed so families can build a summer that fits both their child’s interests and their schedule. The Day Camp is divided into Lower Camp (age 3.5–entering K), Middle Camp (grades 1–3), Upper Camp (grades 4–7), and Teen Trippers (grade 8), giving kids a classic, multi-activity camp day—think swimming, arts & crafts, games, and outdoor play—with themes that change week to week.

For kids who are all about sports, Sports Camps provide focused instruction in basketball, soccer, lacrosse, hockey, tennis, squash, flag football, and more. Families can choose between full day sports (most of the day in their chosen sport, plus daily free swim and outside time) or sport + day camp “plus” programs, where campers spend half the day in their sport and half in traditional day camp activities. All sports camps emphasize skill-building, teamwork, and sportsmanship, with low coach-to-athlete ratios and access to Fessenden’s turf fields, gyms, and pools.

If your child is more into STEAM, theater, or creative exploration, Specialty Camps offer week-long deep dives into areas like Adventures in Science, Coding Camp, Makerspace, Music & Video Production, On Broadway & Rising Star musical theater camps, Silly Science, and STEM Discovery. These programs run either as full day specialty (with daily swim and outdoor time) or specialty + day camp “plus”, blending half a day in the specialty with half a day of traditional camp. Specialty STEAM camps take place in the Ciongoli Center for Innovation, a makerspace-style studio, while theater camps use Fessenden’s new auditorium with professional sound and lighting—giving kids a “big stage” experience in a supportive camp setting.

‍Discounts‍

• June Session 2 camps: Prorated due to observing Juneteenth.- Week 2 camps: Prorated due to observing July 4th.- Multi-Week Discount: Campers attending 8 or more weeks will receive a discount on their tuition. To receive the discount campers must register for all 8 weeks of Day Camp, or a combination of Day Camp, Final Five, and any full day Plus Camps. June Session 1 and 2 Camps are NOT included in the multi-week discount.
• Sibling Discount: Families with more than one camper, who are each attending 4 or more weeks of camp, receive a 5% sibling discount off the tuition of the second camper, and a 10% discount off the tuition of the third camper and subsequent campers.
• Referral Discount: For each new camper you refer (who attends 2 or more weeks), you will receive a $50 discount towards your tuition.

‍Financial assistance is limited to children referred through the Wildflower Foundation. They do not offer financial assistance outside of the Wildflower foundation at this time. Please contact the Summer Camps Office if you have a question about financial aid.
