Levitate Camps

Greater Boston

About This Activity

Levitate Camps (Marshfield, MA) are built for kids who love an outdoor, creative, board-sports lifestyle—think surfing, skateboarding, art, and beach days—with a mission centered on confidence, creativity, and connection to nature. Their core summer camp offerings include Creative Camp (ages 5–10), a morning arts + nature camp based out of the Levitate Backyard with off-campus walking adventures; Warrior Surf Camp (ages 7–12) at Rexhame Beach, featuring daily surfing (conditions permitting), beach games, and beach cleanups; Skate Camp (ages 7–13) at Uncle Bud Skatepark (Marshfield Skate Park) focused on skills by level, skate etiquette, and park navigation; and Waterman’s Camp (ages 13–15), a more advanced, small-group program at Rexhame Beach that blends surfing + paddleboarding and reading real ocean conditions.

For logistics, camps are offered in typical formats like morning blocks (Mon–Thu) for Creative (8:30–11:30) and Skate (8:30–10:30), while Surf and Waterman’s sessions are tide-dependent (generally 4 hours/day; some Surf sessions may run 4 or 5 days depending on the week). They note limited spaces that fill quickly!

A nice parent-facing bonus: Levitate Camps pledges 1% of camp signups to help fund camp access for kids in need (Creative/Surf/Skate), and the Levitate Foundation also supports local assistance programs!

How to Register

  • Prior to signups you can create an account on Sawyer (linked here). This will allow you to more quickly add camp sessions to cart on signup day, but will not guarantee that you will get into your desired week of camp come signups day.
  • You can then go to profiles and add your kiddos to your account, making the sign up process easier on the day of registration. To add your kiddos to your Sawyer account, scroll over your name, then click “My Profile” in the dropdown menu. From there click “Profiles” again then add profile and add your kiddos!
  • On signup day, you will be able to login to your account through the Sawyer widget on the Levitate Camps page.
  • When registering your child or children, your spot(s) at that camp session will be held for 10 minutes once you add that camp to your cart, allowing you to add other sessions and fill out our simplified registration form in that time frame.

Registration opens January 31 at 9 am, for any additional information see here.

Ratings & Reviews

What Parents Like

  • In the most public reviews, families consistently call out a friendly, welcoming crew—the kind of place where beginners feel comfortable and kids are genuinely encouraged. (1)
  • Their procedures spell out details many parents appreciate—like photo ID required at pickup and clear “what to bring” lists by camp type. (2)

What Parents Think Could Be Improved

  • Surf/Waterman’s are tide dependent, and their policy notes that weather cancellations can trigger make-up days—but no refunds for missed days, and no make-ups for lateness/absence/early pickup. That’s not “bad,” but it’s a policy parents should be aware of before enrolling.

Our Take

Levitate Camps are a strong fit for families looking for a high-energy, outdoor-centric “coastal summer”: Warrior Surf (ages 7–12) for beach-and-wave kids, Skate Camp (ages 7–13) for park progression and mentorship, Creative Camp (ages 5–10) for art + nature adventures, and Waterman’s (ages 13–15) for teens who want a more advanced surf/SUP skill track with a smaller-group feel.

Because the public review pool is lighter than for mega-camps, the smartest “MomBrains move” is to ask three quick questions before you book: (1) how kids are grouped by age/skill, (2) how they adjust for conditions (tide/weather) day to day, and (3) what support looks like for first-timers—especially for surf/skate beginners.
