About This Activity

MetroRock offers action-packed climbing camps designed to help kids build confidence, physical strength, and teamwork skills—all while having fun on the wall.

Their summer camps are best suited for kids ages 6 to 13 and are available in full-day and half-day sessions across most summer weeks. Campers engage in:

  • Indoor rock climbing (bouldering, top-rope, obstacle courses)
  • Team-building games and movement-based activities
  • Instruction on climbing safety, technique, and goal setting
  • Occasional outdoor climbing trips for older age groups (varies by session)

Each day blends structured instruction with open climbing and games, promoting both skill-building and play.

During school vacation weeks (such as February and April), MetroRock also offers vacation day camps with similar programming:

  • Climbing-focused days with indoor challenges and group games
  • Half-day and full-day options to accommodate various schedules
  • Safe, instructor-led activities in a supervised and inclusive environment.

These camps are a strong fit for energetic kids, first-time climbers, or returning adventurers looking for a dynamic break from screen time.

  • Parents note that camps are not an afterthought but part of a broader kids’ program ecosystem at the gym, ensuring your child has a cohesive experience. (2)

What Parents Think Could be Improved

  • Climbers recognize that it can get very crowded in the space during kids activities and camps, meaning kids can possibly get lost in the shuffle or might need an extra eye kept on them, especially if they suffer from anxiety or sensitivity. The same is true for general peak hours. (2)

Our Take

MetroRock Everett is widely seen as a big, well-loved climbing gym that caters to kids, with fun indoor and outdoor summer camps, after-school programs, and team options. It's great for kids who love to climb, move, and tackle physical challenges. Parents who’ve hosted birthday parties or brought kids to climb describe staff as helpful and attentive, and call the gym a great place for kids to learn to climb. At the same time, adult climbers note that there can be a lot of kids running around during programs and that the gym gets busy—so families of more cautious or easily overwhelmed children may want to ask how camp groups are managed and when they’re on the walls.
