Roudenbush Community Center

Greater Boston

About This Activity

The Roudenbush Community’s Center offers nurturing and engaging childcare-based programming for children ages 15 months through 13 years—with a strong emphasis on learning through play.

Their summer program geared towards toddlers and preschoolers typically runs in weekly sessions throughout the summer months. It emphasizes:

  • Creative play and hands-on exploration through arts, music, and sensory activities
  • Outdoor time in a fenced-in playground and garden space
  • Opportunities for social development and early academic readiness
  • A warm, familiar environment with trained early childhood educators

The camp follows a consistent daily routine that blends structured activities with lots of movement and free play, ideal for younger kids needing gentle transitions.

Summer Adventures is a full day program for older kids, ages 5 thru 14 ( held from 8am to 5pm for 10 weeks). Divided into 3 groups by age, the program incorporates:

  • Water play
  • Group games and individual play
  • Arts & crafts and STEAM activities
  • Weekly themes, in house events, walking field trips (within a 1 mile radius i.e. nearby trails, town common and the library), and bussed field trips.

Roudenbush also offers school break coverage (like December, February and April vacations). These programs continue the center’s regular curriculum but include special seasonal crafts, indoor games, and theme days to keep kids engaged during the break.

These programs are a great fit for parents looking for safe, reliable childcare with a strong education focus.

Beyond those programs, the greater Community Center offers classes, gynmastics, pickleball, and other family fun and community events throughout the year!
