About This Activity
TDNC is a full-day nature-based summer day camp sponsored by the Bolton Conservation Trust, designed for children entering Kindergarten through high school. For the younger group (grades K-5) the camp runs Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and offers a rich mix of outdoor adventures: swimming, hiking, games, camper-led performances, shelter building, predator-and-prey tag, arts & crafts, and camp-fires for hot dogs and marshmallows.
For older campers (grades 6-9) the “Eco Adventures” program includes kayaking, water-games, nighttime activities, team-building challenges, and a special extended day Thursday evening with dinner and s’mores. With its strong emphasis on nature, conservation, and hands-on fun in a beautiful wilderness setting, TDNC offers a great choice for kids who love being outside, exploring, and getting active—while also encouraging new skills, independence, and connection with nature!
*And if your high schooler is interested in being a counselor, there's an option for that, too!

What Parents Like
- Parents consistently describe Tom Denney Nature Camp as a happy, high-energy, deeply outdoorsy camp where their kids come home happy, tired and dirty, in the best way. They rave that campers talk non-stop all the way home about the games, counselors, and nature adventures, and often beg to sign up for more weeks. (1)
- Several parents highlight how much their kids love classic camp experiences like Predator-and-Prey tag games, shelter building, treasure hunts, swimming, campfire lunches, and Friday performances for families. (2)
- The counselors get special praise—many are former campers, and parents say their kids adore them and feel safe and welcomed. Families also appreciate thoughtful touches like accommodating food allergies, before/after care their kids actually want to attend, and the strong nature and environmental-respect focus. Our Take
Based on available reviews, Tom Denney Nature Camp seems like a great fit if your child loves being outside, running around, swimming, playing big group games, and getting dirty in the woods rather than doing a heavily structured or tech-based program. Parents emphasize that kids feel known, welcomed, and excited to return, and that the staff are warm, hands-on, and genuinely engaged. Because most in-depth reviews are hosted by the camp itself, we’d still recommend doing a quick due-diligence step—email or visit, ask about staff-to-camper ratios, safety procedures, and how they support kids with different temperaments or needs—but overall the picture from fellow parents is very enthusiastic and nature-loving.
