About This Activity
Worcester Academy’s summer programs are set up as a menu of week-long specialty camps so you can plug your child into exactly what they’re excited about, rather than a one-size-fits-all day camp. On the academic side, they offer camps like Maker Camp, Robotics, Science, Coding, Filmmaking, Video Production, Video Game Design, and Reading & Writing, each running in its own dedicated week during late June and July. Kids spend the bulk of the day hands-on—building robots, coding simple games, making short films, designing projects—so it feels more like a themed “mini-lab” than summer school.
If your child lights up for the arts, there’s a separate track of Visual & Performing Arts camps, including Visual Arts, Clay Camp, and a two-week Musical Theatre camp where kids rehearse and perform a show. These programs give kids a chance to dive into painting, sculpture, ceramics, acting, singing, and stagecraft with more time than a typical school-year class allows. For sports-obsessed kids, Worcester Academy also runs Athletic camps, ranging from a general Sports Camp (multiple weeks in June and July) to focused Football, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, and Tennis camps, plus a short Basketball Clinic. Each runs as a dedicated week or session, so you can choose a full summer of sports or mix one or two weeks of athletics into a broader camp plan.
Across all programs, the structure is similar: week-long sessions for full or partial days. That makes Worcester Academy’s summer offerings a good fit if you’re looking for targeted, interest-based camps in STEM, arts, or sports, rather than a single general day camp your child attends all summer.

Ratings & Reviews
What Parents Like
- Reviewers say the sports camps at Worcester felt safe and enjoyable, a good baseline for families thinking about soccer, football, or multi-sport options there. (1)
- While not camp-specific, Worcester Academy as a school gets generally solid marks on platforms. For a lot of parents, the appeal of WA’s summer programs is precisely that they’re run by an established independent school with good academics, facilities, and coaching, rather than a pop-up operation.
